Singer and television host Ary Malik died Tuesday after battling ovarian cancer for over a year, mStar, The Star's Bahasa Malaysia portal, reported.
Ary, whose real name was Nurita Maliha
Aryanee Malik, 46, died at Hospital Ampang in the presence of her
husband and children at 7.17pm after being warded for 10 days.
The news of her death was confirmed by her husband Shahrul Nizam Shaharuddin, better known as Shahrul Bromo, 46.
She was buried at the Muslim cemetery in Taman Danau Kota, Setapak, later in the night.
Earlier, the news of her death went viral, but was reported as false and that she was still on life support.
mStar said Ary was warded at Hospital Ampang on Feb 18 after her condition worsened.
She underwent chemotherapy at Hospital Tuanku Mizan in Wangsa Waju.
Ary was a host for Muzik-Muzik and had previously joined MasterChef Celebrity Malaysia in 2012.
She leaves behind her husband and three
children - Nurh Zoe Iman Malik, 19, Dinda Pelangi Timor Malik, 13, and
Ratu Chinta Mecca Malik, 11.
